Sandy Hernandez, a dog owner from Miami, Florida, feared the worst when he lost his two adorable Siberian Huskies, Ragnar and Kloud. This reunion story is sure to tug at your heartstrings.
One evening, Sandy allowed Ragnar and Kloud to walk around his backyard. He knew that his two rambunctious, energetic dogs needed their daily exercise.
Unfortunately, he thought the fence was high and sturdy enough to contain them. The barrier turned out to be too low, and while he wasn’t looking, Ragnar and Kloud jumped over the fence and escaped.
Sandy felt devastated after losing both of his dogs in one night. He immediately searched for them the entire weekend, posting missing posters around his neighborhood.
Finally, a man saw the posters and informed Sandy that two large Siberian Huskies were roaming the streets. He thought they were lost, so he turned them over to the Miami-Dade Animal Service, an animal shelter in Miami-Dade County. Sandy immediately got in his car and drove to the animal shelter, anxious yet hopeful.
Miami-Dade Animal Services, an animal welfare organization that promotes spaying and neutering and pet adoption, collaborated with a local magazine called Ocean Drive.
The plan was to feature some shelter animals for adoption to help them find permanent homes faster. Unexpectedly, Ragnar and Kloud were among the featured animals for adoption in the magazine!
When Sandy came to the animal shelter, Ragnar and Kloud were already in the middle of the magazine photoshoot. Both dogs smiled and posed happily with some models, oblivious that their dad was about to come for them.
Finally, Sandy arrived and saw his two dogs from the entrance. Excitedly, he parked the car in the driveway and ran towards the dogs. Sandy quickly explained to the photographer and staff that the Siberian Huskies were his. He showed them one of the missing posters he had printed to prove his point.
Everyone congratulated him as he reunited with his two beloved pet dogs. In an interview, he said he would have Ragnar and Kloud microchipped to avoid losing them again.
