Do you own a trained dog? Indeed, it can be a reliable asset to your life. The primary reason is that since the pet has some special skills, it can use them to your advantage.
There lived a dog keeper whose name was Ken. Sadly, he had diabetes, and this health challenge motivated him to keep a trained dog. The specially trained pet was Belle, as he fondly called him.
Belle had unique skills in determining when Ken’s blood sugar was abnormal. He had some expertise in informing the patient when the need arose. Ken knew that whenever Belle began to lick his nose and bark, then something was amiss. Indeed, dog actions were not in vain.
Ken will respond by going to take the reading.
As they continued to live together, Belle began to grow in skills. One distinctive characteristic about Belle was that once he mastered one art, he could perfect it. He was an obedient and prompt companion.
When summer had just begun in 2006, Ken experienced a seizure and collapsed. Quickly and creatively, Belle knew that Ken needed instant help. What were the viable options for him? He looked around and located the phone.
Taking the cell phone, he carefully dialed nine as per the training. The number was specially programmed to dial the usual 911. Before long, the emergency workers arrived to rescue the patient.
Since Belle was excellent at following instructions, many recognized this skill and decided to give him an award.
There is usually an award for those who use a cell phone to rescue someone’s life. The VITA Wireless Samaritan Award went to Belle. It was unique since Belle was the first dog to get such an award.
The caretaker is ever proud of his dog’s achievements.
