Maltese

They even do great as homes or apartment dogs. Greyhounds need on average 40 minutes to 1 hour of exercise a day, and from time to time have short bursts of energy which requires them to have some free space to run. Their short coats make them very easy to groom, and they shed very little.
Pomeranian
Pomeranians are another great choice for seniors because of their happy and affectionate nature. The Pomeranian makes for a nice lap dog who enjoys the companionship of its owner. This dog loves attention and can help seniors combat loneliness. They need 30 to 40 minutes of exercise a day, and although active, they enjoy relaxing on the sofa with you. Their coat needs brushing from time to time, but their small size requires less grooming time than bigger dogs.
West Highland White Terrier
The West Highland White Terrier, also known as the Westie, is another nice dog companion for seniors. These dogs are extremely happy and friendly, with an affectionate nature. Westies are low-maintenance and easy to handle, which is perfect for an elderly person looking for a dog that doesn’t require a lot of care. They need from around 40 minutes to an hour of exercise each day. The Westie is a low shedding breed that requires moderate grooming.
