Like humans, the daily lives of animals have changed because of the pandemic. They need to adjust to the new normal. However, doing so is hard for most pets who live with a routine. This is probably the main reason why Gem, a quick-witted Shepherd cross, escaped home and found her way to a spa.
According to the staff at Happy Tails Pet Resort & Spa, they saw Gem at their gate around 6:30 in the morning. Although it’s normal for dogs to slip off their leash while their human parents are busy, the staff were still in shock to see Gem at that moment. They never thought that a dog could think and act like a human looking for some pampering. Nevertheless, the staff happily welcomed Gem at the shop and gave her the best spa service.
Gem’s human parents have no idea where she went that day. With this in mind, the spa staff thought of informing her family. It turned out then that it was not the first time Gem escaped to relax.
But her parents let her stay at the spa for the day and enjoy her time there. She is a spoiled dog living her life spontaneously!
Living three blocks away from the shop, Gem was one of the spa’s regular customers. She comes to the shop at least three to four times a week. Unfortunately, Gem’s visit was reduced to once a week when the pandemic started.
According to its co-owner, Happy Tails, Pet Resort & Spa is the Disneyland for dogs. It is a place where dogs can relax and have their much-needed pampering time. In addition, dogs are allowed to play and meet their furry friends there. Aside from Gem, the resort and spa have a lot of clients visiting the establishment multiple times a week.
Dogs are smart in their own little ways. Although they can’t exactly say what they want, they always find ways to get what they want. The same is true with Gem — she did not let the pandemic stop her from enjoying her much-needed spa day.
