Tamale has been both blind and deaf ever since he was born but despite that, life was very normal for him and his disabilities didn’t really affect him that much. And when he turned four months old, Tamale was finally adopted by his mom, Kayleigh Otstot, from Speak for the Unspoken dog rescue, a foster-based rescue focused on dogs with special needs.
As he grew up, Tamale would oftentimes run into things as expected but other than that he was a completely normal dog. When people would meet him they wouldn’t even notice that he was deaf and blind. And just like any dog, he is outgoing and loves to meet other people, dogs, as well as babies.
Thanks to his friendliness, Tamale met the golden retriever Jimmy who would become his best friend in the world.
Jimmy and Tamale met each other for the first time at a dog park and after they hit it off, their fur moms decided to meet at the dog park routinely. After that, their connection grew even more and they started to go out on walks together and see each other at least once a week.
Whenever they would meet up and hang out, Tamale would wait patiently in the car and wait for Jimmy. And the most heartwarming part is that as soon as Jimmy spots Tamale, he runs over to him and boops him on the nose. Jimmy knew that his best friend couldn’t see or hear him so he took a creative and sweet approach.
Tamale would then excitedly jump out of the car and join his best friend to start their adventure for the day. They are each other’s soulmates and we hope they live long to enjoy each other’s company.
