Earlier last March, an unexpected patient entered the doors of a vet clinic in Brazil. It was an injured homeless dog. He needed help, and it seemed like he knew the exact place to go.
Dayse Ferreira, the vet, and owner of the said clinic noticed the dog limping as he entered her clinic. She, as well as her colleagues, was surprised that the pup initiated to seek their assistance. The poor pup also trusted them almost instantly.
Dr. Ferreira related that the pup came in while putting his injured paw forward. It was as if he was showing them where he was hurt. All of them at the clinic were surprised that he knew where to find help.
Dr. Ferreira didn’t waste time and examined the injured pup right away. It turned out that his paw was not severely injured. However, it was fortunate that he visited the vet for another reason.
The vet found out that the pup had a small tumor. Besides that, he was also covered in fleas. Luckily, both these conditions could be treated. The staff gave the pup a cleansing bath, and Dr. Ferreira administered medications. Aside from the help that the clinic’s staff gave him, the pup also found hope.
Ever since the pup’s unexpected visit to the vet, word has spread, and several people have contacted the clinic expressing their intent to adopt the stray dog. Now, the former stray dog has a brighter future to look forward to. And this is thanks to his initiative to seek help from the right people. Also, thanks to Dr. Ferreira and her colleagues, the pup has recovered because of their willingness to help.
According to Dr. Ferreira, the most adorable thing about the incident was that the dog came on his own. His intelligence is just so beautiful and admirable. She is sure that the pup will find his forever home in no time and will be loved the way he deserves.
