Ella was brought to the veterinary clinic because she was having difficulty giving birth. Dr. Blue, the vet, was prepared to assist her in delivering all of her puppies.
Jamie, Ella’s fur mom, said that a day before that, Ella had given birth to one of her puppies, but it seemed as though she had more to deliver. An ultrasound at the clinic revealed that there may be one or two puppies remaining in the womb.
Dr. Blue revealed to Jamie that the puppies might not survive. The vet would perform another ultrasound to check for a heartbeat and hoped for the best.
Ella required an emergency C-section to deliver the puppies, and if none of them were breathing, Ella’s uterus would have to be removed to prevent future pregnancy-related complications.
During the scan, Dr. Blue observed and heard the faintest heartbeat. He prepared immediately for surgery. The puppy had lost a great deal of oxygen and needed to be delivered as soon as possible.
One dog was delivered by Dr. Blue with its placenta still attached. He was not breathing, but his appearance was encouraging. There was still a possibility for his survival.
Unfortunately, the second puppy that the doctor extracted was already blue in color, indicating that it did not survive. Dr. Blue was nonetheless pleased that at least one of the two puppies could be saved, as he had not anticipated that any of them would still be alive.
When Ella’s fur parents heard about the new puppy, they were overjoyed. They were also grateful to Dr. Blue for ensuring the safety of all the canines.
Ella is now the proud mother of two puppies, and Jamie is happy to welcome new members to the family. Dr. Blue’s expertise and quick thinking saved one of the puppies, and Jamie is grateful for the opportunity to raise and love the new addition to the family.
