Bully dog breeds are often shrouded by negative stereotypes. This resulted in them not being popular amongst potential adopters. If they happen to have a physical deformity, that lowers their chances of getting adopted even further.
The good news is that a few people do not care about a dog’s appearance or stereotypes. These are the types of people worth celebrating and featuring in stories. Below is an example of a person who gave a discriminated dog a well-deserved life.
Cocoa is an American Bully who is overweight. Some people would mistake her for a potbelly pig. Aside from that, her front teeth have gaps, so she has quite an unattractive smile. Fortunately, Cocoa’s owner sees nothing but cuteness in her smile and size.
Cocoa was a stray dog that had been dumped by her previous owners. At one point, she was on the list of dogs who were scheduled for euthanasia. Fortunately, two rescue organizations worked together to transport her to a foster home in Northern California.
After a year at a foster home, Cocoa got adopted by a woman named Lori. At this point, she got the chance to show her gentle nature. She lived with two bulldogs who can be rude to her at times, but she knows better and doesn’t get in their way.
This chubby dog has a distinct look in her eyes. Lori says that it feels like a person is staring at her. Cocoa’s foster parent likes to describe it as similar to being hypnotized.
Cocoa had it rough in her younger years. She was clearly neglected, and the damages on her body were proof of that. Now she gets to enjoy a life that is the opposite of what she is used to. She can sit on the patio near the mountainside all day, taking in the wonderful view.
