People are unlikely to adopt a stray dog with a terminal illness. Fortunately, there are kind people who look for sick dogs to give them a home. They aim to let these dogs experience everything good about being pets while they are still alive.
Sometimes a dog under hospice care pulls through and lives longer. A small dog named Pipsqueak is an example of this. No one expected her to live through her illness, but she managed to beat the odds.
Pipsqueak came from a puppy mill where dogs are recklessly bred. Her small size and fragile health were a result of being born in that horrible place. According to a veterinarian, Pipsqueak was in terrible shape and only had a few months to live.
Pipsqueak had a previous foster parent, but that arrangement did not work out. That foster parent was hospitalized, so all the dogs in his home, including Pipsqueak, had to be sent elsewhere. It was an unfortunate incident, but Pipsqueak’s rescuers did not give up hope for her.
One day, a woman named Kelsey found out about Pipsqueak’s sad situation. She immediately traveled to where Pipsqueak was and brought the dog to her home. Kelsey was fully prepared to take care of the little dog until the end.
Kelsey gladly dedicated most of her time to Pipsqueak’s care. The woman spent a lot of money on the dog’s medical care. Despite the high cost of medicines and supplements, she knew every penny spent on keeping the dog alive was worth it.
Pipsqueak’s life was extended for eight more years, and she is still strong today. Nowadays, the little dog spends time acting as a role model for the other dogs her owner has adopted. That wouldn’t be possible without Kelsey’s unrelenting care and dedication.
