An unnamed woman in Thomasville, Georgia was out biking one day when she witnessed a terrible scene. While biking, the woman saw two men ganging up on something under a water creek. The woman checked what was happening and saw that the two men were holding a dog.
After realizing that the two men had the intention to kill the dog, the woman immediately scared them off. The woman yelled at the two men and caught them off guard. However, it came with no price as the woman risked her life to save the dog.
Luckily, though, the woman was safe, and so was the dog. After shooing the two bad men, the woman shifted her focus to saving the dog. When she realized she could not do it alone, she called for reinforcement.
Fortunately, the one she contacted acted swiftly and went to the site immediately. Animal control officer Lauren Warburton arrived in time to help the woman save the dog.
Lauren works with the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society, so she is no stranger to this kind of rescue. Her team handled the dog extra gently because the dog seemed traumatized.
When the dog arrived at the shelter, Jessica Collins, the shelter’s manager, gave the dog a sponge bath. This is because the dog was covered with mud and debris. After that, the dog received the name Miss Hicks.
According to Jessica, Miss Hicks is a pillar of happiness among volunteers of the shelter. This is because, despite the terrible past she had, the dog managed to thrive.
Miss Hicks is now recovering from the injuries she sustained from the incident. Meanwhile, the woman who helped the dog wanted to maintain her identity private. Nevertheless, the woman promised to sponsor the dog’s adoption fee and other medical needs.
