People are often reluctant to adopt pit bulls. Yet contrary to the popular notion that pit bulls are aggressive, these dogs can be quite loyal and sweet. A dog named Sinatra is proof that they are not the vicious dogs people think they are.
Sinatra was abandoned by his previous owner. He was left outside a pet store, and the owner of that store refused to take him in. Later, he was saved by a police dispatcher named Frank, but even he was hesitant to take care of the dog due to Sinatra being a pit bull.
Frank decided to take care of Sinatra, even if he worried the dog might be aggressive. Frank later found out that his assumptions about Sinatra were wrong. The pit bull turned out to be a very affectionate and calm dog.
While Sinatra was not problematic, he wasn’t a perfect dog either. Frank had to overcome a few communication challenges and make sure Sinatra had ways to release his energy. The fact that Sinatra was Frank’s first dog didn’t make things easier.
Sinatra’s unique quirks are what made Frank like the dog. The dog’s physical appearance was a bit different from other pit bulls. Sinatra always has one ear up while the other flops.
When Sinatra reached 13 years of age, he lost his appetite. Since the dog didn’t eat much, he lost a lot of weight. At that point, Frank did all he could to make sure the dog would live longer, but he knew Sinatra’s time was coming to an end.
Sinatra later passed away, but before that, the two of them enjoyed one final amazing moment together. They sat together on the porch, staring at a rainbow. Frank cherished that specific memory as much as his first and only dog, Sinatra.
