Fur Dad Gets Reunited With Service Dog After The Pup Was Stolen Along With His Car

Fur Dad Gets Reunited With Service Dog After The Pup Was Stolen Along With His Car

Joseph McNair September 7, 2021

Aaron Morris had been with his service dog, Jolene, for about six years now. The Labrador/pit bull mix had seen him through his battle with mental health and continued to provide him the emotional support he needed every day. That was why when the pup was unexpectedly stolen in late May, the fur dad was nothing short of devastated.

That day, Aaron was out running errands with Jolene in North Carolina when they stopped at a gas station and proceeded to a variety store across the street. He decided not to take the pup inside and leave his car running to keep her cool instead.

Little did the fur dad know that as he was picking up his items in the store, someone was busting into his vehicle. When he returned outside a couple of minutes later, his car was already gone, along with his wallet and phone. But most importantly, Jolene had been stolen with them, too.

Aaron immediately reached out to the nearest police station and reported what happened. He also turned to social media to post photos of his missing pup and offer a reward, hoping that someone might recognize her and willingly hand her over. However, as the hours passed, he started to lose hope of ever seeing his Lab/pit bull mix again.

That was until several days later when he saw a post from an animal shelter in Morristown, Tennessee, asking about the owner of a pit bull mix named Jolene. Apparently, someone saw her wandering the streets of the area and decided to drop her off at the shelter.

The staff immediately noticed that she still had her collar on, so they reached out to the number on it. However, they couldn’t get in contact with Aaron anymore since he had lost his phone that day, as well. Fortunately, they took another approach and posted Jolene’s photos on Facebook instead.

The fur dad headed to Tennessee as soon as he confirmed that it was his missing pup, and their reunion was a definite tearjerker. Look at their happy reunion here.
