Abandoned And Disfigured Dog In Texas Gets Life-Saving Surgery And His Life Is Completely Turned Around

Abandoned And Disfigured Dog In Texas Gets Life-Saving Surgery And His Life Is Completely Turned Around

Joseph McNair December 12, 2021

Bjarni was in constant pain and looked very pitiful when kindhearted people found him living in the streets of Houston. Although it seemed that his injuries have long healed, his disfigured face tells a story full of hurt.

The poor dog’s mouth was disfigured, and part of his nose was missing. His jaw was also crooked and missing some teeth. Bjarni’s injuries made it terribly challenging for him to eat and even breathe. They couldn’t say exactly what caused the injuries, but it looked like he got into a vicious fight with another canine.

Surgery

A local rescue group, which has been helping stray in the area for more than three decades, kept Bjarni in their shelter. They eventually got hold of the dog’s owners, but they flat out refused to take him back.

Undaunted, they decided to move on and do what’s best for the poor pooch. Their next move was to get in touch with the vets and clinics that they have worked with. They sent photos of the dog and asked what they should do. A group of specialists asked them to come in, and after an examination, they agreed to do surgery on the dog.

Although they have offered their services, it was still going to be a costly operation. The group immediately started looking for funds. They even shared Bjarni’s story on their Facebook page so that they could reach out to more people.

New forever family

Everybody, including those that were following Bjarni’s story online, was overjoyed when the vets said that the operation was a success. But he still had to stay in the hospital so that he could fully recuperate. His recovery went fast, and after a week, he was released to the rescue group.

Bjarni stayed with a foster family to continue his healing while they look for his new forever home. It didn’t take long.

The dog with the sad past now has a bright future. He could eat and breathe better now and lives with a family that adores him.
