Clayton Kroeker is a Canadian radio host who works part-time as a stand-up comedian. In some of his skits, the Saskatoon resident would make fun of dog owners who spoil their pets. At that time, he didn’t own a dog yet.
Five years later, he would become the people he mocked in his jokes. Clayton and his wife adopted a dog named Kipper, and he soon realized why humans love their pets so much. He even said he started looking at sweaters for his pooch, and he couldn’t help but laugh when he remembered his jokes about overbearing pet owners.
Tear duct issue
Kipper, a chocolate labrador, was just a little pup when Clayton brought her into their home. When she turned one, she experienced issues with one of her tear ducts. They tried several treatments, but none of them worked. Eventually, they had to remove the affected eye to remove all discomfort.
Even with only one eye left, Kipper was still a loving and sweet pooch. The couple doted on her as she made them very happy. But then, a few years later, the same issue affected the canine’s other tear duct. Slowly, she was losing her eyesight again.
Clayton felt sorry for his beloved pet. So he wanted to do something special for her.
Epic road trip
The radio host knew Kipper would eventually lose the ability to see. Before that happened, he wanted to give her many visual memories she could recall when she goes blind. So he organized an amazing 10-day road trip all over Canada.
Clayton, his wife, and their pet went to dairy farms, parks, and many other places dogs would enjoy. The trip was purely for Kipper, but the couple also had lots of fun. They were so happy to see their dog having the time of her life. Clayton even made a short video of their journey and shared it on TikTok.
Kipper eventually lost her vision, but it still didn’t change how wonderful she was. The couple loved her even more and always took the time to make her feel loved.
