Curious Dogs Discover A Trapped Mouse And They Started Sniffing And Pawing At It

Curious Dogs Discover A Trapped Mouse And They Started Sniffing And Pawing At It

Joseph McNair August 7, 2023

Dog owners are aware that it is impossible to foresee how their pets would act while in their natural hunting mode. But it is a good thing that there are instances in real life when dogs allow their humans to see just how they behave when they see prey.

When the dogs in this story discovered a mouse in a mousetrap, they gave their owners quite a show.

As soon as the dogs discovered the rodent in the trap, they switched to hunting mode. The mouse scurried around swiftly, and soon both dogs were barking and pawing at the trap in an attempt to obtain the reward.

The mouse, on the other hand, was not readily intimidated. It successfully remained just beyond their grasp. Everyone participating enjoyed a vigorous exercise, but the dogs had the most fun. Ultimately, hunting games are entertaining for the hunter.

It is always fascinating to observe our canine companions in hunting mode. They become ecstatic and howl madly at the prospect of capturing their prey. On the other hand, the prey does not love these situations, and we can appreciate why.

While we thought the entire video clip amusing, we could imagine that the small rodent was afraid. If the mouse in this tale had been as large as Disney’s Mickey Mouse, perhaps it would have felt differently.

Undoubtedly, the dogs had the most fun, but we could tell they were holding back. It is not in their nature to willfully harm unless they perceive a threat.

In the end, the dogs’ owners had to intercede to halt the game, but not before the dogs had gotten some much-needed exercise and their fill of pleasure. What about the mouse? The animal managed to escape uninjured and is likely still on the loose.

So, when interacting with our dog companions, let’s keep in mind that they may be adorable and playful, but they still possess instincts. Thank you for visiting; see you next time!
