Losing a beloved pet dog is one of the most devastating things to happen to a dog owner. Dogs are incredibly loyal creatures that many of us consider as part of the family. This is why we would do anything to find our lost dogs when they go missing.
A fisherman named Nick Haworth is inseparable from his dog. He would take his dog, Luna, anywhere he went. He would even take Luna out to sea when he goes fishing.
One day, Nick went out to sea to go fishing. Just like he often would, he took Luna with him. However, what he didn’t know was that something was about to happen that would devastate him. Luna fell from the fishing boat and Nick wasn’t able to find her.
After reaching shore, Nick reported his dog missing. Although Nick knew that Luna was a strong swimmer, he also knew that the nearest shoreline was two miles away from where Luna fell. However, Nick didn’t give up and he hoped that Luna would somehow make it.
Unfortunately, after five weeks went by, Luna was still not found and Nick was fearing that his dog drowned. Nick was crushed and he even made his peace and posted about Luna passing away on his social media account. However, Nick’s sorrow would soon turn into happiness and disbelief when someone reported to him that Luna was sighted on an island.
The island had a naval installation and Luna was sighted sitting on the side of the beach. The crew members were just arriving for work when Luna greeted them with a smile and a wagging tail. One of the crew members was even surprised that Luna wasn’t fazed by the group of people around her.
One crew member even opened the car door and whistled for Luna to come. Luna jumped right in where she was eventually taken to the facility where she was treated and assessed. Luna was a little malnourished but she’s otherwise uninjured and healthy. It also appeared that Luna hunted and ate small rodents to survive during the five weeks that she’s been missing.
Nick was overwhelmed with emotion after learning the Luna was alive. She was picked up by Nick’s friend and was eventually reunited with Nick after Nick returned from his trip. It was such an emotional reunion and Nick and Luna are both so happy to be together again. Here’s a heartwarming video of Nick and Luna’s reunion.
