This Puppy Was Dying When Rescuers Found Her, But She’s Now Healthy And Full Of Energy And She Needs A Home

Let’s Adopt International, a nonprofit rescue organization in Spain, received a call from someone who claimed to spot a puppy inside a shoebox dumped at a park. Quickly, its founder and lead rescuer Viktor Larkhill assembled his crew and drove straight to the location. Once they arrived, they confirmed there was, indeed, a puppy and they knew right off the bat that it was sick.

The poor puppy was severely emaciated, dehydrated, and malnourished. She was so frail that she couldn’t even move. She managed to tilt her head a little but that was it. She was completely motionless.

The rescuers wasted no second. They rushed the puppy they named India to the emergency animal clinic, where the vets performed various tests. And after a comprehensive examination, it was revealed that the puppy suffered from congenital heart disease wherein one of her veins strangled around her esophagus, preventing food from reaching her stomach.

India was probably dumped at the park because of her illness. She was so sick when she was found and she required a very risky procedure. And after that, her rescuers had to figure out a way to ensure she gets proper nutrition.

As per the vet’s advice, India had to be in an upright position while she ate. Additionally, she needed to stay in the same stance for at least 20 minutes to ensure the food she ate won’t regurgitate. And while everything was a huge challenge, she got used to it and so did her rescuers.

After India left the hospital, she continued to the White House, a residential property where the crew houses their rescue dogs. She thrived and became a healthy and happy dog. And at some point, she joined a family, but she came back within a few days because according to them, she was too energetic and playful for them.

It isn’t India’s fault that she turned out to be a very lively dog. After all, she’s still young, and she’s probably making up for the days she lost when she was sick. She’s simply eager to enjoy life.

India needs a family who can take her on long walks and adventures. She will fit perfectly in a home with a huge yard, too. This girl will drive you nuts with all her zoomies, but she will love you unconditionally without asking for anything in return.
