UK Coast Guard Reacts Quickly And Rescues A Dog That Was Being Carried Away By The Strong Sea Current

A Scottish family living in Cummingston decided to spend one Sunday having a stroll along the beach. They brought their pet Cockapoo because it enjoys the beach as much as they do.

The small dog was playing in the shallow water when he was unexpectedly swept away from the shore by a strong tide.

The dog grew further from the coast when the waves approached and receded. The incident occurred so quickly that the dog’s owners could not reach him in time. It seems like the unfortunate dog had no hope of surviving.

They did not, however, give up. The family requested assistance from the Maritime and Coastguard Service.

On the same day, members of the UK Coast Guard were conducting training in their vicinity. Immediately upon getting the call, the cops were informed.

One of their helicopters was in the neighborhood and instantly responded. They began scanning the vast ocean for indications of the dog. They soon observed the small dog trying to remain afloat. A boat was deployed after they alerted their other members.

The helicopter and rescue team maintained close communication. It was challenging to locate the dog from sea level. When they discovered the drowning animal, he was 50 meters from the coast and had been helplessly bobbing for forty minutes.

When he was retrieved, the puppy was quite weary. He could have perished in a minute.

The team rendered first assistance, and he miraculously recovered. When they reached land, they took the dog to a veterinarian who proclaimed him unharmed. The dog was returned to his owners after his release.

Everyone was thrilled and appreciative of the courageous efforts of the rescuers. Without them, the pet would have perished. The family stated that they would continue to visit the beach, but would leash their dog the next time they do so.
