Dogs Can Work To Make Our Lives Better ‘Happy Labor Day’

Joseph McNair August 16, 2021

Every year Labor Day celebrates those who work hard to improve the lives of others. However, it is not just people whose work contributes to society and makes our lives better. The work of dogs is just as important to us due to the services they provide. Let’s look at some of the invaluable jobs that canines all around the world carry out to make our lives better.

– K-9 Dogs

Police forces use k-9 dogs to do many jobs that can help keep us safe and free of harm. This includes detecting out things such as drugs, bombs, and explosives at airports or railway stations as a result of their keen sense of smell. Otherwise, this work would have been a much harder task for humans to do alone. As well as that, many police forces use k-9 dogs to track and catch criminals and hold them there until someone arrives on the scene.

– War Dogs

War dogs are used by troops in certain countries for many roles, including sniffing out bombs and explosives, detecting impending danger, and sending out messages to other soldiers through dangerous terrains. These troops use dogs for their courage, strength, and speed, which has proven to be a priceless time and again.

– Therapy Dogs

Therapy dogs can bring comfort and joy to those who need it in places such as hospitals and nursing homes. These dogs often visit children’s hospitals with their owners, and their presence and affection can make even very ill children feel much better.

– Guide Dogs

Guide dogs are invaluable to those who have lost their eyesight. These dogs can help those who cannot see live more normal lives as a result of their service. Guide dogs will assist the blind in performing everyday tasks and guide them to wherever they need to go. Hearing guide dogs, on the other hand, will warn their owners about incoming traffic or any other danger to keep them safe from harm.

– Search And Rescue Dogs

Search and rescue dogs have been trained to sniff out and find those who have been lost, especially during natural disasters or snowstorms. As a result, many lives have been saved, including those of young children, and great relief has been brought to worried families.
