Bodycam Footage Shows Officer Smash Car Window To Save Dog Locked Inside

Bodycam Footage Shows Officer Smash Car Window To Save Dog Locked Inside

Joseph McNair August 23, 2021

Smashing someone’s car is criminal vandalism, but the footage shows a police officer smashing a parked car’s window in the featured video below. Why might you ask? Well, to save a dog’s life, of course.

The video happened in the United Kingdom, where dogs are considered more than man’s best friend — they are family. Unfortunately for the little dog in the video, he wasn’t treated like one. Instead, the little dog was left alone inside a parked car!

Leaving a child, or a live animal, in this case, can be considered negligence. Without proper ventilation, a child or a dog left in a car can suffocate or die of extreme heat. That is why, when a police officer in the United Kingdom learned about a parked car that had a dog in it, he immediately leaped into action.

With his trusty baton, the officer strikes the passenger window once. When the first hit did not dent the window, he went in for a second strike. Finally, the next hit shattered the passenger-side window into a thousand pieces. The officer then cleared the pieces of broken glass on the window and reached into the car to unlock the door.

With the door finally open, the officer finds the little pup exhausted and afraid. The frightened dog was looking out the driver-side window. The sound of the bashing and the shattering of the glass must have terrified the poor dog, but little did the pooch know that it was all for his safety.

The officer folds the passenger chair to shield the dog from the pieces of broken glass on the cushion. Then, with a little encouragement, he is finally able to convince the pup that he is there to help. Then, with the pooch’s leash in tow, he leads the frightened dog outside the car.

We hope this becomes a lesson for everyone not to leave children or pets alone in the car. Watch the dramatic doggy rescue in the video below.
