The current pandemic has affected everyone. To prevent the spread of the virus, it is advised that everyone observes social distancing.
Those more vulnerable, such as the young and the elderly, are restricted from going out. However, these measures do not prevent some from going out and getting their essential needs.
Karen Eveleth, a woman who lives in Manitou Springs in Colorado, has found a way to assist her neighbor, Renee Hellman. They have been neighbors for over a decade now, and with the help of Karen’s adorable golden retriever, Sunny, they found a way to help her during this pandemic.
Renee has some health issues and is currently relying on oxygen. However, due to her age, she has been self-quarantined for her safety, which is also why she can’t leave the house to get food and medicine.
Karen has devised a plan that would not risk anyone’s health. She sends her adorable dog, Sunny, to pick up Renee’s shopping list. She then goes to the store, gets the items for her, and sends Sunny back to deliver the goods.
For Renee, Sunny does not only help her get her essentials, but the dog also serves as a bit of sunshine during these trying times. Getting a visitor as cute as this one will make you smile.
Sunny is a very well-trained dog because, besides helping Renee, he also gets mail for Karen and picks up trash during their walks.
Karen hopes her story encourages everyone to do their part and offer a helping hand to everyone during this global health crisis. We cannot do as much right now but rely on each other, hoping and praying that everything will get better.
