Marty’s Place Sanctuary Rescues Abandoned Senior Dogs And Gives Them The Best Days Of Their Lives

Joseph McNair March 18, 2026

Just like humans, dogs grow old and would need someone to take care of them. Taking care of senior dogs is not an easy task. Even if sometimes they seem weaker and slower than they used to be, it doesn’t mean that they have fewer needs.

Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary, a rescue group based in New Jersey, takes in older pooches who don’t have anyone else to take care of them. They also take in other dogs who have been left homeless after losing their previous owners. They make sure that all of these puppies can be safe and warm.

All of the elderly dogs get to enjoy living their golden years together. They are free to go run around and play inside Marty’s Place or they could also just chill and take naps together on the sofas. The sanctuary also has an indoor pool where the dogs can swim freely.

Even if these dogs are old, the staff at Marty’s Place still makes sure that they get a lot of exercise to keep them happy and healthy. It’s a common misconception that all senior dogs do is sleep. But on the contrary, their residents are comprised of different kinds.

Some dogs at the sanctuary simply love relaxing all day long and cuddling with their furry friends. While some of them are active adults who can be as energetic as a young pup. However, there are also some seniors who are so old that they are nearing hospice care.

But even with their differences, they all get along quite well. The staff at Marty’s Place make sure that they get to socialize with each other and have a great time together. Because of this, the dogs get to live happily in this sanctuary.

Getting rescued and being at Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary is something these elderly dogs seem to know. They never fail to show people how grateful they are for being there for them. Even when they are old and gray, they can still give you lots of love and joy.
