A Rescue Dog Didn’t Have His Own Yard Before – So His Mom Built Him One

A Rescue Dog Didn’t Have His Own Yard Before – So His Mom Built Him One

Joseph McNair March 7, 2024

When a kindhearted woman, KaTarra Taylor, adopted Bentley, he had already lived in four different households. His medical and anxiety issues were way too much for many people to handle. However, Taylor knew that Bentley deserved another chance at a joyful forever home and didn’t want to give up on him.
Together, Taylor and Bentley managed to work through lots of his anxiety issues. Even though Bentley still struggles, he is getting so much better every day, and Taylor would never swap him for anything in this world. According to her, Bentley is half cranky grandpa and half sweet doofus.
When Taylor first adopted the rescue dog, she resided in a one-bedroom unit. She knew there would never be adequate space for the adorable 120-pound dog for an extended period – so she decided to level up.
Taylor said she purchased a townhouse so she and Bentley could stay together. The townhouse had a more expansive enclosed patio that Taylor knew her dog would like. She could not afford a home with a yard. However, she thought she could turn that patio into a tiny yard with the right help.

Bentley always enjoyed lounging in the grass during trips to the park or walks with Taylor. His mom eagerly wanted him to have a bunch of grass he could spend time on whenever he wanted. At first, the task seemed to be daunting. However, after calling Taylor’s boyfriend, Nick, for help, they started transforming the patio into the best space for Bentley.
Taylor said she finally decided it was time to finish it a week before. Her boyfriend finished everything within one day for less than $400.
After countless hours of work, Bentley’s yard was finally complete, and Taylor could not wait to show Bentley. She hoped her dog would like it as much as she wanted him to.
Taylor took Bentley outside. When he saw his new beautiful grassy yard, Taylor knew that she’d made the right decision and that all the hard work had been worth it.
According to Taylor, Bentley quickly laid down and stayed there for many hours. He seems to be so happy with it.
Now, Bentley enjoys lying out on the grass all the time. And it turns out to be his new favorite napping place. After everything Bentley had previously gone through, Taylor is happy that her dog finally has a new backyard space that belongs to himself and the best forever home.
