After Weeks Of Unsuccessful Attempts, A Couple Finally Rescues A Stray Dog And Fosters It

After Weeks Of Unsuccessful Attempts, A Couple Finally Rescues A Stray Dog And Fosters It

Joseph McNair May 25, 2023

A couple Sydney and Matt heard loud noises coming from the trash cans in front of their porch one night. The following day, while reviewing security footage from the night before, they observed a dog loitering near their property. This dog was Bishop.

Over the next two days, the couple diligently reviewed their security tape and discovered that Bishop kept on returning. Sydney and Matt, concerned about the dog’s condition, decided to leave food and water for him.

While the dog was eating, the couple stepped outside and attempted to approach him politely. Unfortunately, Bishop became frightened and fled when he spotted them.

The couple attempted to track Bishop to determine where he found refuge. After a few minutes of searching, Sydney and Matt found the dog by some bushes but it ran away upon seeing them. Feeling defeated, they went home.

The following evening, Matt sat on the front porch with some snacks so that Bishop would feel safe around him. The dog was extremely wary, so he approached the man slowly. Matt waited patiently for almost two hours every night for two weeks doing this before he finally gained Bishop’s trust.

On the same evening that Matt got Bishop’s trust, the dog accompanied him to the backyard, where he was served home-cooked meals. Bishop was still wary of his new surroundings, but when he spotted Luke, the family dog, he visibly relaxed.

The couple agreed to foster Bishop while assisting him in his search for a permanent home. Bishop was already a well-mannered dog, so their mission was easy.

Courtney, the couple’s neighbor, inquired whether Bishop was available for adoption after a few weeks. Sydney and Matt agreed to give Bishop to Courtney because they were aware that she was a caring person.

The pair brought Bishop to Courtney’s house on Christmas morning. The children in the home instantly ran up to Bishop and began to play with him.

Bishop’s adjustment to his new home was seamless. He cherished his new backyard, new brothers, and his neighbors Sydney and Matt. The pair were overjoyed that they were able to help improve Bishop’s life.
