Alabama Delivery Driver Steals Autistic Child’s Service Dog – Returns Pooch After Witnesses Come Out

Harley is a 110-pound Pit Bull that means a whole lot to her family. Despite her size, she is a gentle and sweet dog that plays a crucial role in their household in Helena, Alabama. Aside from being the perfect companion, she provides emotional support to the family’s autistic son.

The large dog is a constant companion to the young boy and helps him cope with his daily life. He relies on Harley to relieve the stress and anxiety he constantly feels. Without him, the lad is lost and panics a lot. That is why when the dog went missing, the boy’s mom didn’t know what to do.

Picked up

Harley was let out of the house to do her business in the backyard. Somehow, she was able to get out, and she started wandering around their neighborhood. This has happened before, but she always came home quickly and never went far. Besides, everybody knew who Harley was and where she lived. But this time, she didn’t return.

The dog’s owner started asking her neighbors where her dog was. They said that they saw her two houses down from their own home. The mom looked even further, but she couldn’t find the pit bull. Word spread that the dog was missing, and the mom suddenly received a message.

One of their neighbors said she saw Harley sitting next to a delivery driver while doing his route. The mom was shocked to hear that.

Return to owner

The worried mom called the delivery and shipping company and informed them of their employee’s actions. She was angry that the driver took the dog and never bothered to look for her owner. After two days, the company replied and returned Harley to them.

Although the family was relieved to have their dog back finally, they want the driver to get punished for his actions. Despite claims from the driver that he merely rescued the dog, the angry mom insists that the employee meant to keep the dog. He never made any inquiries or reported the dog missing.

The company is now cooperating with the authorities in investigating the matter.
