Most dogs can’t go on motorcycle rides and travel the 50 states. Maybe for others, but not for Sox the Husky. Michael Fiala sold everything he owned to move to Hawaii and travel across the 50 states on his big bike, the only property he was left with.
Then, Sox came into his life as a gift from his father. As Sox wasn’t part of the plan, Michael figured out how to take him on the adventure.
Even as a dog trainer, it was challenging for him to take a full-grown dog on motor rides. Luckily, it was only challenging and not entirely impossible. Michael spent the following months riding with Sox to practice for their grand adventure. He installed a camera on Sox’s helmet that recorded all their fun rides.
In one of the videos from Sox’s camera, a deer ran in front of them while the camera followed and watched it running away. Michael realized that Sox was watching the deer as well. It was an adventure that was no longer his only but for them both.
A few years later, after road trips with Sox, Michael decided to write off the item on his bucket list and ride his bike across the 50 states with Sox. They enjoyed plenty of rides together, and Michael knew it was time to fulfill his original plan.
The brave, fluffy dog in a helmet and pair of goggles was all the source of courage and support Michael needed to finally get on the epic journey he had planned for both of them. He promised to live his dreams, just like he always promised Sox the bike’s back ride seat.
The road may get bumpy and unpredictable, but one thing is for sure: Sox and Michael will pass them all on their bike.
