Dog Takes Care Of A Dying Rat Then Becomes Best Friends

Dog Takes Care Of A Dying Rat Then Becomes Best Friends

Joseph McNair August 5, 2024

We all love unusual friendships, and this dog’s and this rat’s stories are some of the best examples. They prove that size and species do not matter in friendship.
Osiris, a five-year-old Dutch Shepherd, is best friends with Riff Rat, who is seven months old. They are inseparable, and they trust each other in their lives.

Riff Rat was rescued by Osiris’ owners when he was four weeks old. He was so small back then and was on the brink of dying, so he needed medical attention. After surviving such an incident, Osiris helped him get back on his feet.
Osiris may have related to Riff Rat since his owners rescued him as a puppy. He was left in a parking lot, and his owners were giving him temporary shelter. They eventually fell in love with Osiris and kept him. After that, his owners trained him to be a therapy dog, and they could look after many animals throughout the years.
However, when Osiris’ owners rescued Riff Rat, they were worried that Osiris might harm him somehow. In time, all these fears went away when they saw how Osiris cared for Riff Rat. They are now best friends—Osiris even lets Riff Rat go into his mouth to brush his teeth.

Osiris’ owners described him as the gentlest dog they have ever met. His friendship with Riff Rat is one of the most adorable friendships they’ve seen, and they know that the two love each other, which brings them so much joy.
This unusual friendship offers hope for all creatures on Earth, including humans.
