Busted! This Woman Finds Out That Her Dog Has Been Stealing Her Cupcakes

Busted! This Woman Finds Out That Her Dog Has Been Stealing Her Cupcakes

Joseph McNair January 31, 2022

Dogs love food and treats – there’s no doubt about that! And they also love mischief.

When dogs combine these two interests, you can safely say that what will happen next is a funny disaster. There’s a chance that they’ll end up becoming food thieves! This is why it’s important to keep your food out of your dog’s reach.

A woman named Kara Probin has always made sure that her food is out of her pup’s reach. But her snack keeps disappearing. With that, she has decided to investigate, which leads her to a rather funny discovery. Find out what Kara has discovered.

The case of the disappearing cupcakes

Apparently, Kara had two dogs, both German Shorthaired Pointers. One is a three-year-old pup named River and the other is her younger sister called Winnie. Between the two, it was Winnie who usually engaged in various mischiefs.

Kara’s cupcakes keep disappearing, and she automatically assumed that it was Winnie who was stealing the treats. After all, the older dog’s habit was to beg near the dinner table.

For the record, Kara had lost 15 cupcakes ever since she started baking. And every time a cupcake was lost, it was Winnie who always appeared guilty. As such, the family just let the deed slide.

River was caught red-handed

After a lot of failed attempts to keep the food out of the dogs’ reach, the family decided to catch the culprit red-handed. They put a morsel of cake on the farthest end of the counter. That way, the dogs would never reach it.

But then, Kara found that the cake was gone. The puzzled owner decided to set up a camera in the kitchen. She then left three pieces of dog cupcakes on the counter.

Kara couldn’t believe her eyes. It was River all along! In the video, the older dog stood on her hind leg and approached the plate on the counter. After sniffing the treats, she continuously hooked the cupcakes using her paws.

After successfully grabbing one cupcake, River gobbled it up. She also managed to nick the other cupcake. Well, it looks like that Kara and her family will have to keep an eye on River until they are sure that the pup can be trusted again.
