Simple Ways To Spend More Time With Your Dogs

Joseph McNair September 16, 2021

Nowadays, people run busy lives. This includes working jobs, meeting with people, and engaging in other activities outside their homes. As a result, often dogs are left alone for many hours. Just like humans, dogs like to socialize with others and spend time with their owners, whom they love most. What are some simple ways in which you can spend quality time with your dogs?

Simple Ways To Spend More Time With Your Dogs

– Go Walking Together

Walking regularly is not only a good way to keep fit, get daily exercise, and release stress or tension, but it is also a great way to spend more time with your dog. During a walk, you get to interact and be with your pet, and both of you can take that time to explore and enjoy nature. As well as that, you can also take your dog jogging or out for a run if that’s your thing, which is especially great for more active breeds.

– Take Your Dog For A Car Ride

If you are going shopping or meeting someone, why not take your dog with you? As long as there will be a place for your dog to do their business if necessary at your destination, taking your dog along for car rides can lead to you spending time with your pet. This is much better than leaving them on their own at home, especially when you are going to be away for many hours.

– Play With Them

Playtime with your dog not only stimulates him if her mentally and provides physical activity, but it also allows them to spend quality time with you. Just playing with your dog for 10 to 20 minutes a day can make you feel closer to your pet, and will not only improve theirs but also your well-being.

– Go For A Trip

Trips can be a good opportunity for you to spend more time with your dogs. A trip can be anything from camping to staying in a pet-friendly hotel or going to a pet-related event. If you can afford it, organizing a trip that includes taking your dogs with you can be much more enjoyable than going without them.

– Interact With Your Dog During Grooming

While grooming is often an important part of dog care and maintenance, a lot of owners treat it as a chore. However, bath time, brushing, nail clipping, or even trimming can be a great way to spend time with your dog. During grooming sessions, you can pet your dog and talk to them, and even reward them for positive behavior. In general, just being near your pet can be a great way to spend time with them and making them feel happier with your presence.
