Pug Locks His Fur Sibling Inside A Cage And Their Owner Is Perplexed At How This Happened

Pug Locks His Fur Sibling Inside A Cage And Their Owner Is Perplexed At How This Happened

Joseph McNair December 5, 2022

There have been claims that a dog’s IQ is substantially proportional to its size, suggesting that smaller breeds are less intelligent than larger ones. The pug in this story, however, disproves that by surprising his owner with a technique he taught himself.

A man named Andrew Nechetsky and his wife had a pug named Elphpie as their only pet in the house and that was the situation in their home for several months. However, the couple decided to expand their family. This is when Terrell Suggs enters the picture. Terrell, or Sizzle as they affectionately call him, was a little puppy when they adopted him from the Delaware Valley Pug Rescue.

Despite the significant difference in their ages, the two pugs connected instantly upon their first meeting. Since day one, they have enjoyed spending time together and have been inseparable. In fact, Elphie would go out of her way to spend additional time with her younger brother.

Sizzle is often left in his box when Andrew and his wife go to work. They also installed a kitchen fence to keep Elphie from disturbing her brother. However, no obstacle works as a hindrance for two determined pugs.

The couple would always find Sizzle outside his box and playing with Elphie whenever they returned home. As it turned out, the dog was able to release her sibling from his cage.

Since it was evident that the container idea was not working, the couple abandoned the crate in the hopes that no further escapes would occur. They were obviously mistaken when they returned home one afternoon to find Elphie confined in her own brother’s crate! Andrew was astounded by the sight and believed it impossible for her to have locked herself in. He was perplexed for days before he just solved the mystery.

That day, Sizzle was headed to the kitchen. Andrew opted to follow the dog despite the absence of anything unusual. There he discovered Sizzle’s new trick. He would open his cage, walk up to his sistg er’s toy box, select her favorite toy, and place it inside the cage.

Elphie would automatically search for her toy. And when she attempts to access the cage, Sizzle traps her inside. It was brilliant.
