This Stray Dog’s Rescue Story Shows The Noble And Intricate Work Of Every Animal Welfare Group

Hope For Paws, a non-profit rescue organization for animals based in Los Angeles, California, received a report about a stray male dog that wandered into somebody’s yard and collapsed. The animal welfare group did not hesitate to take action and prepared a team of volunteers led by Loreta Frankonyte, a seasoned animal rescuer.

Hope For Paws volunteers arrived at the scene and found the stray dog motionless but responsive. Not knowing the actual condition of the animal, they quickly but carefully secured him onto a makeshift gurney before carrying him into the car. They named the stray canine Milo.

The animal welfare group drove Milo to a veterinary clinic for proper assessment and treatment. The well-behaved canine was cooperative throughout the procedure.

Soon enough, they discovered Milo had no microchip. While he didn’t have any injuries, his blood test results suggested a severe infection that most likely originated from an infected bite wound on his shoulder.

Milo underwent a long course of antibiotics and received routine wound care simultaneously. Within a few days from the start of his treatment, Milo showed signs of improvement. He is more active and responsive. His playful personality began to emerge even before he made a complete recovery.

At last, Milo finished his treatment and has fully recovered. The next step is to put him up for adoption. Hope for Paws collaborated with a partner organization, Cause for SB Paws, to speed up the process.

Thankfully, it didn’t take long before Milo found his forever home – a family with another dog named Grace. Now, Milo can happily play with his new canine sibling, and he wouldn’t need to worry about sleeping in the streets like he used to.

Rescuing a dog alone already requires a lot of effort. Sometimes, it takes a tremendous team effort to save one. Milo’s inspiring story proves that saving his life was worth it.
